PRBC Teams with RentBureau to Facilitate Homeownership for Millions of Renters

Over 3 million RentBureau records available through PRBC Reports

Atlanta, GA - PRBC and RentBureau announced an agreement that will facilitate homeownership for millions of loan applicants who lack traditional credit history. The partnership will enable more consumers to have their on-time rent payment records considered as part of their credit histories when applying for a mortgage and other loans.

PRBC, a credit information repository that verifies and scores rental and bill payment data, has signed a reseller agreement with RentBureau, a rapidly growing data repository of rental payment history from large landlords.

Individuals will be able to supplement their rental history with other recurring payment histories such as utility, phone, and cable bills. PRBC verifies and consolidates this data in PRBC Reports, which are available to lenders who want to better assess risk of borrowers that lack traditional credit history.

"We're pleased to have PRBC distributing our rental data to help qualify 'thin-or-no-file' mortgage applicants," said Harold Solomon, RentBureau's COO. "PRBC has pioneered the delivery of non-traditional credit data to mortgage lenders in on-demand, automatable formats."

"RentBureau is the largest and fastest growing repository of rental history available today, and their data is reported directly from property management systems such as Yardi, OneSite, AMSI and MRI," said Corey Stone, PRBC's CEO. "PRBC Reports will be the first non-traditional mortgage credit reports that can be compiled on demand using RentBureau's archived rental histories. As PRBC can reach over 100,000 mortgage loan officers through our NCRA Affiliate Network, we expect the demand for this data to be quite substantial," Stone added.

RentBureau's data will be available on demand in PRBC Reports beginning in mid-October, 2007, the two companies reported.

About PRBC

PRBC is a consumer reporting agency that collects, stores, scores, and reports bill payment data in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It is the first credit repository to give prospective borrowers the tools to demonstrate their creditworthiness without the need to go into debt. In addition to receiving payment data from creditors and financial institutions' bill payment services, PRBC has partnered with the National Credit Reporting Association to verify trade line accounts and up to three years worth of prior payments that consumers can report directly to PRBC.

Lenders can purchase a PRBC Report depicting a consumer's bill payment history either on a standalone basis, or merged with Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion credit reports. Each PRBC Report is accompanied by a PRBC Bill Payment Score (BPS). A PRBC Report may also be used as a "non-traditional mortgage credit report" (NTMCR) that meets Fannie Mae's, Freddie Mac's, and FHA's standards for documenting creditworthiness. PRBC does not charge consumers a fee to enroll in the service or to view their own payment data at any time. To learn more, visit www.prbc.com.
